  • CHF 10 via Debit/credit card or TWINT.
  • No reservation, form, or appointment is required before visiting.
How it works

Pick up. Register. Enjoy.

You receive the physical card from ESN Zürich first. Register it online afterwards to access offers that require a verified ESNcard account.

  1. 01

    Collect your ESNcard

Visit the ESN Zürich office, show your proof of eligibility, pay CHF 10, and receive your physical membership card.

  2. 02

    Create your ESNcard.org account

Register with your email address, confirm your account, and complete the required personal and study information.

  3. 03

    Add your card and explore

Enter the unique number printed near the barcode and the validity information, save your profile, and browse available benefits.

The physical card and online account work together. Receiving your ESNcard does not automatically create an ESNcard.org account. Some international offers only become available after your card number has been added to a complete online profile.

ESNcard questions, answered.

What is the ESNcard?

The ESNcard is a membership card for the Erasmus Student Network. It provides access to local, national, and international discounts, events, and activities for eligible students and volunteers.

Who is eligible for an ESNcard?

The ESNcard is available to exchange students and volunteers in the Erasmus Student Network.

Can I buy the Zürich ESNcard online?

Currently we only offer in-person collection at the ESN Zürich office. Online purchasing will be added in a future release, stay tuned.

How long is the card valid?

The ESNcard is valid for 12 months from the date of acquisition written on the card. When it expires, you need a new membership card if you are still eligible.

Is the ESNcard a replacement for my university student ID?

No. It is an ESN membership card, not an official university student card. Carry the correct university ID whenever a regular student discount requires it.

Can my friends or family use my discounts?

Benefits normally apply only to the named ESNcard holder unless an individual partner explicitly states otherwise. The card and online profile are personal and non-transferable.

Can I use a Zürich-issued card outside Switzerland?

While your membership remains valid, you can use it for participating international ESNcard partner discounts. Access to local ESN events can depend on the rules of the organising section.

What happens if I lose my card?

Contact the ESN section that issued it to ask about replacement. Once you receive a replacement, update the card number and validity information in your ESNcard.org profile.

Are partner offers guaranteed for the full year?

No. Offers are operated by external partners and may be modified, limited, or withdrawn. Always read the current terms on ESNcard.org or the partners' dedicated page before making a purchase.

How can I claim my Ryanair discount?

Once you have received your ESNcard, make sure to follow the next steps:

  1. Register on ESNcard.org. This data is used to validate your ESNcard during the flight booking process, so fill in every field of your user profile — including your ESNcard number.
  2. Go to myRyanair and sign up, or log in if you already have an account.
  3. Add your details in the “Erasmus” tab of your myRyanair dashboard. Make sure they match your ESNcard user profile exactly (same names, watch out for typos).
  4. Wait until your ESNcard and other details are validated. This is not a live validation, so it can take a few days.
  5. Once validated, use the booking widget at the bottom of the Erasmus section of your myRyanair dashboard. Only bookings made through this widget count towards the discount, so do not use the normal Ryanair booking engine or any other booking system.

Keep in mind that:

  • you should book your tickets at least 28 days in advance;
  • the offer only applies within the travel and booking periods of the current campaign, so check the dates before you plan your trip;
  • you must hold a valid and active ESNcard both when booking and when flying. If you book with an expired ESNcard, Ryanair will ask you to pay the difference in the cost of the flight and luggage.
